The Acoustic Solid Machine Small R is the entry-level product for their Machine range and is a simplified version of their Acoustic Solid Machine model. Despite this, no compromises have been made in the key areas, including the use of their own high-precision “zero tolerance” bearing and a heavy 50mm thick aluminium platter to smooth out residual motor cogging. Nor have any compromises been made on build quality. This is after all a German product. Instead of the decoupled outrigger type feet used on its larger brother, the Machine Small uses three independently adjustable spikes. Felt backed casters are provided to allow the turntable to be used on fragile surfaces. The Acoustic Solid Machine Small can be upgraded to add features from models higher up the range.

One should not underestimate this turntable. The Acoustic Solid Machine Small R will extract bass from your records with a surprising degree of depth and clarity. The mid-range transparency, rhythmic integrity and overall musicality are excellent and these are all key to the enjoyment of high quality analogue playback.
